Weird hesitation @ around 5,200 rpms...
I've got a Turbocharged H22A1 and I'm running @ 9psi. When I get up to about 5.2k-5.3k rpms the engine stops accelerating (or accelerates extremely slow) then it picks back up again at about 5.4krpms. It's not as bad when I punch it, it doesn't hesitate as long. The hesitation is only about a second. What could this be?
When does Vtec engage? Isn't it like 5700 or 5800 rpms? I don't think it's bogging or anything like that, it's just that little hesitation at 5200. The enging runs fine throughout the rest of range.

im not talking about blowing your motor up, im just saying that i have heard of people having hesitation problems with a turbo at the vtec crossover (i believe it was a leaning out problem on the x-over, i think
)
)
i have the same problem in my h22a but it's not bosted and totaly stock (for now).
it hapens sometimes, not always. And i wouldn't say it stops accelerating, it only looses some power for a second or two (realy noticable) i've changed my fuel filter so it have to be other thing. Any sugestions?

I'm running missng link, and my turbo spools up at about 3400-3500rpms. No much lag at all. Got to love those T3/T4 hybrids. I am having a problem with my EGR valve. Could that be the prob.?
you can also be runnin really rich. i had that problem when i had the fmax kit. i used the mf2 to lean it out a little, then it got much smoother. also, it can be the fuel filter too.... i need to change mine
I am running a little on the rich side. I'm not using the two aditional 440cc injectors nor the mf2 so I can't really adjust. I'll try the fuel filter. Thanks for the input.

Boosted H22 here, NO problem at vtec engagement. But I am running electronic engine management. Boost makes vtec BETTER. It sounds to me that your problem is a tuning issue.

I also am running A boosted H22a1 @ 9psi. And I have the same problem.....that split second hesitation at vtec crossover. Have not been able to figure it out. Some times are worse than others especially right after resetting ecu.
I had a simular problem when tuning but my motor is N/A. When I was adjusting my fuel curve on the dyno I noticed the vtec crossover was a little lean so i tried to richen it up a abit. But whenever I took added any fuel at the crossover it would do a quick studder then be fine. I messed with it for about 30 mins but after all was said and done I just put it back to where it was and then it worked fine. Nothing I could do would fix that studder, I just chalked it up as "crossover likes to be lean for a sec" and went on with fixing the rest of my fuel curve. The studder sucked a$$ though I couldn't imagine driving like that.
