Default My brand new hybrid, How fast is this thing??

I recently finished my swap, 93 CX Hatch with a JDM B18c. My bro drives a b16 CRX and he has been racing and going to the drags for a while and says that my car is capable of high 12's but i don't think it's that fast. stats:

95 jdm b18c
CTR cams
itr and portflow valve springs
ti retainers
str cam gears
skunk2 intake mani
type r T-body
DC jdm header
2.5 high flow cat
tanabe exhaust
MSD external coil
walbro fuel pump
the compression came out to be 220/210/215/215 with new oem head gasket
and stock 10.6.1 compression ratio
full ACT clitch extreme P pleate 6puck and ACT 12.5lbs flywheel

block is all stock and ECU is stock also, no LSD, the car will run with out the back seats and spare tire. the tires will be some 195 falken's on 99 si rims
this is all my job u gotta know that bofore the swap the biggest thing i did was a tune up

Umm, find a track learn how to drive and handle it. Then find out yourself.

With a "good" driver high 13's. With a new driver mid 14's. Sounds like a good setup but if your on street tires 13's will be pretty hard.

Amen to that.

I think you might be capable of high 13's with a decent 60 but at stock compression and rev limit your limiting your power band.

With drag radials I see 13.50's at sea level maybe better....with slicks and open header you may touch 12.99's

This his bro. First off we didnt mention that we have skunk2 coilovers on all 4 wheels and adjustable shocks on all 4 wheels and we DO know how to set the suspension for drag racing(somewhat). Also i am saying 12.9 after a good solid tuning on the dyno, and a very well chiped ECU rasing the shiftpoint to 8400rpms.
Maybe i just have alot of faith in those type R cams. Im just saying that ive seen it done with out suspension tunning witha similar setup. Last but not least, didnt anyone ever tell u to aim high and be satisfied with the results?? Anyways, if we dont hit 12.9 im ready to pour some of my own money in to the hatch to get it to MY standards.

12.90 on slicks shouldn't be a problem. 12.90 on street tires will never happen on that set up.

hurricane aided tail wind will help you into the 12's on street tires. That or maybe turn your fire extinguisher into a cheater SHOT.

You will need at least drag radials...traction will be your biggest concern for 12's.
I can see 12's on drags with an ITR ecu if not better ecu. 8800-9200 rev limit would be nice to keep you up in the revs.

In an EG with some things tossed out high 12's on drag radials shouldnt be too hard with a decent driver at a sea level track.

If your at Firebird AZ I think it will be alot tougher to hit 12's than you think.

Good luck.

With slicks and a chipped ECU, yeah, 12's, on drag radials, i doubt it, thats all i have to say bout that one

Slicks, ecu, SICK driver will equal a 12.9 at around 102-103 mph.

Me and Dr.Boosted built a car for a friend of mine. 92 civic hatchback, i/h/e and some minor tuning netted me a 13.3 @101 (stock cx exhaust was connected) first time out with the car. Then on another night at a test and tune session I was cracking 13.0's @ 102 (With open Header) consistently. I was running lip's old slicks 22/9.5/13's on bogarts. The car was squating so much because the stock civic suspension couldn't take it. I was running consistent 1.8 60fts in that car. I believe with a decent driver and some suspension any hatch with bolt ons should be trapping around 102 -103 and runnin high 12's low 13's. Just drive the car like its meant to be driven and you will crack the time.

Although you may be able to turn off a 12.9 on slicks, after you tune it and raise the rev limiter, I certaintly wouldn't go running around saying you have a 12 second car. More like a high 13-low 14 second car... If you start thinking you do have a 12 second car, race a stock ls1.

However, thats a really good setup to build off of. Something simple like a $500 nitrous setup would easily put you deep into the 12's.

Why don't you go to the track to see how fast it is?
