When installing 3 bar map (already searched, not a wiring question)
Do you guys leave the stock map sensor on the tb and just tap into vaccuum somewhere else?
I think somebody needs to have some flanges made that will bolt up in place of the stock map and give you a nipple so you can hook up the 3 bar

During my install, I quickly (the key word here being quickly) fabbed a plate that I cut out from some aluminum, drilled some screw holes and mounted it. The oring under the stock MAP sensor seals it. Then I connected the GM MAP to a nipple on my manifold. If I ever get around to it, I thought of connecting a barb to this plate, either JB Weld style or maybe make a new plate with thicker aluminum or steel and thread it on. It probably wouldn't make any difference, vacuum is vacuum, but it would look neat.

That's a good question.......does the map sensor just not register the higher psi or does it actually break?

I think Speed PHreak has popped a stock MAP in the 8-10psi range. They read boost and all, but it's pretty near the limit of their diaphragm's travel and they don't last as long due to the stress... lasts a fairly long time, but it's not 100% reliable like stock.
I ruined a map by purging my nos. I think I over pressurized the manifold.
I would remove the stock map. Then fab your own block off/nipple set up.
