temp. gauge prob???

Default temp. gauge prob???

alright, my R has yet another problem. when i am in the street just idling my car warms up to the regular standards. however, when i begin to drive the temp. gauge goes back down to cold. what do you guys think the prob is here??

I had the same problem. I think your thermostat is bad. Change that out and you should be good to go.

would having a bad thermostat affect the car going into vtec??

Possibly... temp is one of the factors of Vtec engagement. During the summer time I could still hit Vtec...during the winter I decided not to until I got the thermostat fixed. I suggested getting it fixed before taking the RPMs up. Thermostat can be changed under 2hrs and should cost under 20$.

If you change you thermo go with a spoon.....supposed to be a lot better.

yes u need to be a certain temp for vtec and dont change till u get that fixed. Not sure if that would do that to your car though? I mean with the gauge and all. r u under warranty?
