Default JRSC GSR running Lean someone help

I recently charged my gsr and now its running too lean.
I still have the factory pump but will go with a high flow fuel pump but even then I was told it may not solve the problem?
How about oging with a fuel pressure regulator? vafc?
What are the cautions I should take while driving like this? It runs lean 7-8krpm and can hear detonation time to time.
Will this do damage to my engine? Should I not drive hard until I get this fixed?
Any suggestions or advice will be appreciated. Thank you.

If you can hear detonation...I wouldnt drive hard

You should definitely pick up a GSS317 or 342, etc, ASAP. Have you messed with the FMU at all?

What would be the outcome of mymotor is I were to drive hard?

as for the FMU I think inlinepro tampered with it a little I'm not sure but they couldn't bring the curves down.

if its detonating and you drive it hard, you better start thinking of a new motor or a complete teardown rebuild

I would assume the 6PSI pulley if hes not seeing any detonation until high RPM's with the stock pump still.

that's why you detonated because your running a stock fuel pump the fuel is suffecient until you get in high rpm's. That's when more feul is needed. If i were you i would not drive it hard, untill you fix your feul problem

I am running whatever came with the kit. Hehe..I don't know much.

But will an after market high flow pump fix this problem?
And do you recoomend I retard my timing to -10 like it says in jackson racing or no?
I was told my car will run like sh*t if I retrad the timing to -10 is this true?

Yeah i think it would(i'm not for certain). Because it's retarded all the time. They make an ignition system that retards only when your underboost. I would look into a system like that. If Jackson says retard it 10 degrees do it. Also remember if your running lean------->that means not enough fuel...rich-----> to much fuel. But an after market fuel pump "should" solve the problem from what i understand.

93 octane should be @ 10deg I believe, if I remember right.

Did you purchase the "boost upgrade" package as well, or just the stock kit? The regular JR kit comes with a 6psi pulley that can read 7, so unless you popped off the stock charger pulley and put on the 8PSI pulley, youre running the stock pulley.

At 8PSI, youre in absolute need of a larger fuel pump...

That's why i dont like the kit becauseit's not a kit you still need to buy things. Like fuel pump. Also remeber to upgrade your spark plugs 2 degrees colder. NGK 7's.

Yea hehe. Thanks for the advice guys.
If my car detonates will my engine blow?
i plan on getting a feul pump this weekend so hpefully my problems will be solved.
Running lean also = more power doesn't it?
So once this problem is fixed should I expect to lose whp?
Thanks

Detnation can cause an engine to give.

And yes lean means more power, but power at the risk of your car passing out.

The extra fuel will help you and you wont lose much. You will be able to boost at higher rpm's with no problems and that's were your power will be.

Great thanks for all the advice LS.

I will go with the 255pump this weekend and see what happens.

just so expensive to alwyas be putting ur car on the dyno for the wide 02 band. Hopefully this time my money will be worth the time!

BTW....Before going FI..i had intake exhaust and straight pipe...is it possible to run lean just off that setup?
My check engine light came on after the straight pipe was intalled and I thought iwas maybe one of the 02 plugs came off becaues we used one dead 02 to plug int he extra hole.
however when I went for dyno tuning the tuner told me its not my 02 that I was just running lean? Is this possible?

no you can run lean off of i.h.e. Your check engine light came on because of your o2 sensor. Especially if it's an obdII.

The tuner checked my computer and found it wasn't the 02. Hmmm...
