Default i saw this in the march issue of SCC

and so i went onto the website to check it out here is wha it has to say on the site

turbo kit for 1996-00 SOHC Vtec D16y8.

With over a 60% increase in power, this complete and simple to install Turbocharger Kit gives 1996-00 Honda Civic SOHC VTec D16Y8 owners an option to costly non-emissions legal engine swaps. The Garrett T28 ball bearing Turbocharger comes pre-assembled as one unit with a Ni-resist cast exhaust manifold, a cast iron exhaust elbow, and inlet oil and water lines for the simplest possible installation. The system includes a high-performance Performer X intake manifold with four extra injectors and a separate electronic controller to add fuel under boosted conditions. Also includes an oversized Spearco intercooler and Tial blow off valve. The Edelbrock exhaust manifold and elbow are designed for maximum flow at high velocity for quicker turbo spool-up. We’ve included a windshield pillar mounted boost gauge and pre-assembled Russell oil, water and fuel lines to make this one of the most complete kits on the market. Available early Spring ’03. Emissions-legal status pending.

in the magazine it said that it is already carb legal, that it has a ball bearing garret GT turbo. 6 PSI

yeah, we were talking about this in another thread. someone mentioned that the price was estimated at $3500 for the kit... Sounds like a great kit, but $3500 is kinda steep.

That's how much a swap costs. And you get less horsepower.

Also, I cannot find the kit in the CARB database.......

True, but you can go with a high quality custom kit for far less, and even cheaper if you go junkyard turbo.

i love ontario, as long as that bill to ban performance items doesnt pass, there is none of this strict cali emissions laws

we have our own, but we can pass the visual test and we just turn down boost in order to pass :D

but we cant have wastegates, bovs must route back into exhaust

You must have a wastegate. It must route back into the exhaust.
Without a wastegate, you cannot control boost.....it would just keep building.
