I got backed into and I'm certain my bumper will need to be replaced. Has anyone had to replace a bumper before, how much did it cost... install... paint... the whole shibang?

I'm going to get it looked at by a few places but I am just wanting to know ballpark.

And no... I'm not paying a dime.

OEM Honda = Expensive, aftermarket = dirt cheap.

Keep in mind, nothing fits better than OEM honda.

If I get a quote for OEM, then buy aftermarket, and the front bumper is cheap, I can buy other things.

Alright, I just had my car repaired. Right rear bumper and quarter panel. My insurance gave an estimate for "aftermarket" bumper (cost of around $50). Since it was not my fault, I took car and said estimate to my shop of preference which I knew only install O.E.M. parts. After haggling with the insur. co. - they sprung for an O.E.M. bumper (cost of around $200).

It all depends on who is your insurance co. and which body shop you go to.
But to re-itterate what was said above - nothing fits better than OEM parts.

Well I'm not claiming it through insurance, nor is the other party.

They have opted to pay cash after I get estimates from a couple different shops.

So...

 

I've tried to go that route before to help someone out. All I can say is that I hope you got a police report. It's amazing how people get amnesia after they get away from you. If you didn't call the police it turns into a he said/she said thing and you lose.
