Engine was pulled from my car today and they found oil residue in the downpipe... they're is no play in the turbine shaft and the turbo has less than 1000 miles on it. Haven't taken the head off the engine yet, but the mechanic says that my turbo may need rebuilding too.
question:
can oil in the exhaust side be cause by bad piston rings or is it more likely to be blown turbo seals?

what would cause the seal to blow after 1000 miles? Id on't want to repeat the same mistake if it has to do with my handling of the turbo

11:1 compression
boost spike to 1 BAR
running really rich
pos untuned MF2 on for 3 months
take your pick...but I was gonna get low comp. pistons anyways...just came sooner and more unexpectedly than I wanted

i'm in the same situation as you MiriaZ
although there is a lot of air pressure coming out of my valve cover breather, and sometimes white smoke comes out. i'm very upset.. spent so much money already.. guess now I have no choice but to move to step2 of my project.. buy JE 84mms, swap in B18C crankshaft and use my existing B18C eagle rods into my B20B block, and set new C/R. *sigh*
