I need help Wiring a b16a2 2000 si motor into my 98dx hatch i searched already with no shows could ne one help me or give me a link to a site with it any help would be appreciated this is gonna be my first swap.thx

 

Get a helms manual.

Sell Si harness.

Add VTEC selonoid, vtec pressure, and knock sensor to your dx wire harness.

Put Dx harness on b16a2 engine, extend wires where necessary.

Get 96-98 Del Sol DOHC VTEC ecu....or you could buy my JDM ITR ecu to run the engine, the 99-00 ECU will NOT work.

 

dang i just brough the si harness and ecu!!! and i can't even use it that sucks. thx for the help tho.i was wondering how hard was it to swap the motor for you?

 

Don't forget to repin a12 and a14 for the IACV

 

Or if you are ambitious like I was, you can use the SI engine harness and main cabin harness (the one behind the top of the dash). You will need to splice in your rear wiper harness, repin the floor harness coupler using your old coupler, and use your old evapo canister coupler, but other wise it will all plug and play. It just means you have to take out your dash. It really is not all that hard. Makes for a really clean OE looking swap when you are finished. I recomend buying the Helms ETM (Electrical Troubleshooting Manual) before you tear into it though.

 

It wasn't hard to swap engines in my 97 Hx. Just make sure you have almost all the tools and parts you need before starting.

 

Sell your Si harness and ECU. Buy a 96-98 Civic Ex wire harness prewired for vtec, simply plug and play, then buy a OBD 2to 1 jumper and use a chipped 92-95 P28..........OBD2 is complete garbage

If you can't find the EX wire harness the HX is the exact same thing


96-98 harness=3 plug
99+=4 plug
