Default Tensioner bolt - :|

So yah.. I hate that f-ing bolt. Stripped it trying to get it off... dont know how, but it was probably me and the way i was trying to get it off - thats all irrelevant, so silently call me a moron.

Anyway... need some suggestions to get that bolt off/out. Its stripped.. bad. IE no more 14mm socket/wrench will work.

e: ...timing belt tensioner.

make it a 13mm with a grinder or file, use a pipe wrench, or drill and extract

use a good 3/8 shallow impact socket. impact sockets have a tighter fit and it just might work.

when i say good i mean snap on.

Maybe you can get it off with the Snap On Flank Drive sockets.

I had to grind the head off of mine with the motor in the car. After the bolt head was off, the bolt came right out. I tried vise grips, punches, etc and it still did not work.

This is what I would do actually...and is also the way many shops would handle it too.

Engines aren't to terribly hard to pull out, probably be quicker in the long run as there isn't any room to use vice grips or anything like that. You could pull off the timing belt cover and see if you can get any more room.
