Default Turbo D16Z6 or D16y8 or D17a2 HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I am gonna be buyin a SOHC Vtec motor within the next 2 weeks and i am trying to figure which engine best fit my needs. Help me choose between the
1) D16Z6-obd-1
2) D16Y8-obd-2
3) D17a2-obd-3 (is this possible?)

I am gonna turbo one of the three motors above, which of the three wil be better. Some people on HT told me that obd 3-to-obd 1 is not possible and the d17a2 wont fit anyway, is that true? If OBD-3 to OBD-1 is possible, will it require major modification? Thank you .

Go Z6, direct swap, easy wiring, cheap, very tuneable.

I'd go with the Y8 and convert it to OBD1, or just swap the head to another D series.

What kind of condition is the long block in? How much are you asking?

y8 has a better intake manifold, larger ports, and by theory-better head geometry.

Yeah, it adds a like 3 horsepower or so horsepower. It isn't worth the conversion harness.

Y8 head does not flow as well as the Z6 head.

so it depends on the chassis how much power it makes?

No such thing as OBD-3. The D17A2 cannot be turbocharged easily anyway because of it's returnless fuel system.

D16Z6 with Y8 intake manifold

Well if u have a 4 door ex with a d16y8 or if u have a hatch vx with a d16y8 the hatch will be faster and lighter. it would be faster in a lighter car im sayin.

i was under the impression that the y8 head has slightly higher compression thus making it worse for turbocharging safely. the z6 would be best; already obd-1, abundant, and large aftermarket support. although you would be more likely to find a low milage y8 than a z6. go z though, it'll be better

you said the power will vary depending on the car/chassis, not the speed, you said nothing about speed, we all know about power to weight ratios.

the y8 head doesnt flow as well as the z6.. the ports are not equal size, they are disigned to help swirl and to promote fuel economy... theres more too it than that.. but i dont feel like typing it.
