have a 95 cx with 00 gsr swap and it wont rev past 7100 and no matter what ecu goes in it it all does the same thing i have done the search and i know this topic has been coverd before but i just cant seem sot find it now. both exhaust and intake vtec turn on and i am not getting a cel. could it be a coil starting to go bad or maybe just some bad wiring? any and all info would be great

7100 red line, isnt that LS'??....wat ecu you running with??...as far of gettin ur vtec, i think u gotta re-wire the vtec thats if ur using ur cx harness ....

 

using gsr ecu and vtec works just fine ran all the wires and everything

maybe ur fuel pump is crapping out or its clogged with crap, does it stutter as it approaches the "7100 rpm redline"?

 

check youre fuel filter

 

recheck all your wiring. do you have a svafc?

 

what does it do at 7100, you say it doesn't go past it. is it a rev limiter or does the engine act funny?

 

does not stutter it pulls hard all the way then hits rev limit

just changed distribiter and coil and thats not it, it just feels like all of a sudden there isa rev limit at 7100, mdoes not sputter vtec works fine and tryed 14 ecus already same thing with all of them

 

try checking the o2 sensor, my buddy ran a race header with a screwed up o2 sensor and he redlined at 7k also... if the o2 is faulty it send mixed codes to the ECU

 

when my accord was throwing a code for primary o2 it displated it fine. just go get a diagnostic scan, figure out what the deal is

 

i think my sensors are fine i think its the guage cluster i switched them out and it reved to 9 but that cluster was off so i stuck a autometer in and hid it so it wouldnt look rider and it revs till 8 wich is about right for a gsr motor anyway i am takingit to the track to get a base run bone stock cx hatch with bone stock gsr swap even stock cx exhaust
