Default VTEC solnoid Installation?

I dropped a D16 into my CX, but the guy I bought the engine from removed the VTEC solenoid from the engine. Now I have no idea how to reinstall it. Does anyone have a clue or know where I can go to find out? And no I don't want to go to a shop, that's the whole point of the DIY project. Although the "hot" cam profile seems to be the one engaged which makes for lots of power but not so great fuel economy, is there a way to simply reinstall the solenoid into the wiring without it being able to actuate the cam profiles so that I just stay on the hot profile all the time? Thanks

please explain. if the vtec solenoid is just gone you shouldn't be able to drive the car at all..oil would be running out, codes galore etc. if the vtec solenoid is just not activating, then i would venture to say that the car is NOT going into vtec at all.

The car does run, and there is a slight oil leak around the head, and it is throwing a code. I need to know how to install this damn thing. This would be the external control box (black with a plug that hooks into the wiring harness and a long adjustable cable with some sort of plug on the end). The Chilton Manual has nothing on it and so far no one seems to know where it goes or how to install it. If I could see where and how to do it I would be very appreciative, hell, I may even buy you a beer or two. Thanks

I'm sorry I thought there were people who knew about cars on this site, I must be mistaken. anyone who knows anything about this gets a beer. anyideas at all? The ecu is throwing code #22, saying the vtec is not working, thats what the dealer who plugged the car into thier diagnostic computer said.
