How much play do you have in your shifter when its in gear, with a short shifter and regular shitfters? My skunk2 is nice feels almost like stock but shorter but when its in gear I have about 1/2 inch of play in the shifter, is this normal? thanks

I think that's normal. When I upgraded to the Skunk2 short shifter, it had a lot less play when in gear, but even less when it's in neutral. Much better feel overall

 

I have the DC Sports short shifter and Neuspeed shift bushings, and when the shifter is in gear, it does not have any play.

 

When I change to bigger exhaust piping, I'm going to change my bushings also, heard it works really well

 

Make sure the nut is tight down there.... but not too tight

 

Yeah i just got a neuspeed short shifter with the bushings and i have no play at all.
I like it. now i need more power.

 

so there should be no play? I never had a stock shifter in the car always short shifter, dc=no play, b&m= ,and this skunk2=1/2 play I dont get it. The bolt is snug and I used shifter bushings (prothane) so I dont know.
