You Check ur vacume hoses? Also may want to check out your TB sensor. It went bad in my friends ride and the idle was all over.

Does this happen when you just start the car and its cold? Or whenever you drive for a while and come to a stop? After I drive on the highway for more than 10 min and put it in neutral for a stop, it idles at 1,400 then down to 900-1,000 RPM. It's perfectly normal from what I've heard. Try getting some Gumout Intake Manifold/TB cleaner and use that. It helped my old idle problem. If that doesn't help reset the ECU the way they show on Team-Integra.

Just about every car I've ever driven has idled about 200-500 RPM higher than normal when it's cold.

this happens after the car has warmed up. it idles at 1500 rpms and it sounds like the engine is revving by itself but the needle does not go past 1500 rpms.

did you mess with the idle adjustment screw? Are you thowing a code. You may have a bad IAC valve. Try unplugging your IAC valve that is on the back of your intake manifold. Then plug it back in, and reset the ecu.

My car does the same thing. But now my check engine light is on out of the blue. The only mod i have is an exhaust. Sometimes when i start the car after it's warm and go to take off it hesitates between 3k-4k. any ideas? sorry to steal the thread

sounds like your car has same prolem as me - bad IAC valve. check the CEL code on your car... but it should come out to code #14 - bad IAC valve.

check all the hosing connecting up to the IACV, make sure everything is on tight. take it off, clean it out, put it back on. if you have an extra one lying around ,or can borrow one from someone else to test, put it on and see if that solves it. yours may have gone bad and may need to be replaced.

The dealer just replaced the iac valve 2 weeks ago.

Should my throttle cable be this loose?
