Doing an auto-2-manual swap... ?
Alright, besides the obvious, I want to make it complete.
Pedels, cluster, ECU, shift linkage, the hydro lines and resevoir
Is there anything else? Doesnt the auto tranny have differant mounts then the auto - and would these then have to be cut out and rewelded? Ive got a manual car to yank the parts from, and an auto with everything to swap into the now manual. So its a double swapper, will be nice since I have all the parts right there - wont have to go searching through junkyards.... But anyone got any tech pages online I could look at? Appreciate it!

Search, and you will find a lot more info. This is just a little of the info out there.
Also the reweld, it depends what year your car is.

My problem comes in with the tranny mounts... will I be able to cut them out and reweld them onto the other car? Im not worried about the parts - im sure I will be able to figure it out. But the mounts are what scare me...
To cut them out you will need an air hammer with a chiesel attachment to break the welds.
Takes an hour or so of hammering.
My Dx used to be an auto. Its not that hard if you have the tools.
After that, get ur new tranny mount and reweld. 2 hours work and ur done.
The air hammer is a big help. Without it, the job will tak forever.

Well for that part im going to have someone come over and help me... im not about to weld a tranny mount as my first welding job. My dads friend should have an air hammer thing - ill ask him.
When you say "get your new tranny mount" - what are you referring to?

If in case you dont want to reweld the mount you can call place racing and they have a tranny mount so that you can keep your stock automatic bracket.

you need a manual transmission passengar side tranny mount, its the big one that has 2 studs coming through it and one bolt that goes into the tranny.
Don't use air chisel, the frame rail is VERY soft!
Use a spot weld remover instead, or 3/8~5/16 Ti drill bits.
Its actually faster using a spot weld remover and a drill then using grinder/chisel, etc.

I had 2 engines in my bay without moving that tranny mount...man
and i had all 5 mounts on...
1st on was a LS...just sat crooked...went thru 2 clutches and a broke a top tranny case bolt
2nd was a GSR...just sat too high...gap in the C/F hood...shifting felt weird.
Now im on 3..
Im either going to hack and reweld it..or wait..
last month Dec 2002..i called HASport about that tranny mount...they told me by Jan-Feb 2003 they would have the correct mount made...
good news...
i was about to sell my shell for a manual hatchie..
