I did a search for master cylinder and found plenty of prior posts regarding this topic, but replies to whether a certain master cylinders would fit or not seem to be conflicting.

So, for this post, I am interested in hearing replies primarily from those with 96-00 Civics whom have already swapped their master cylinder. Please let me know which master cylinder/booster you replaced your stock one with, and whether it was a direct bolt on or whether you had to ghetto rig anything (flaring, bending, etc.). Be sure to include the model year of the car it came off of and whether the car it came off of had ABS or not.

I am especially interested in getting the ITR Master Cylinder/Booster and heard that they are a direct fit according to this post:

But I also heard that ABS Master Cylinders don't fit non ABS cars without modifications, and all ITRs have ABS. So, I am interested in knowing whether ITR master cylinders are indeed a direct fit or not. Also, are JDM and USDM ITR master cylinders the same? If not, how are they different and which one would be a better fit?

Bump. Need to know cause somebody is offering an '99 JDM ITR master cylinder/booster for sale and I need to know if I should buy it or not.

AFAIK, the M/C and booster should be fine regardless of ABS. I used 99-00 Civic SiR (Canadian Si) ones with a CTR P/V, and everything bolted up perfectly.

From what i know, you could either go with the EX MC/booster/prop valve (30/30), mc/booster/prop valve (40/40) off of an RS integra, or the setup from a 99-00 Si.

itr or 98+ integra bmc and prob valve from a usdm car are direct bolt on a ek... no bending or mods required... with or w/o abs doesnt matter

How about one from a '99 JDM ITR? Is it any different from the USDM one? The seller says it would fit w/o any flaring. He says it's a direct bolt on. Just want to somebody to confirm this before I buy. Thanks!

nope the JDM ITR BMC is direct bolt on but you will have to modify one of your plumbing since the BMC is from a RHD car...

Thanks for the info! What year Civic do you have? Did you get a proportioning valve when you changed the master cylinder/booster? If so, which one did you use? I'm still unsure whether I should use an ITR, 99-00 Civic Si, or an Integra RS proportioning valve. What's the difference in them? Which one works best with an ITR master cylinder? Can I use the ITR proportioning valve w/o modifications if my car doesn't have ABS?

i think the itr and the si prop valves are the same... i have a 00 civic but 96-00 same ****... i would use a itr prop valve since you're doing a 5 lug conversion

I have a VX and i plan on doing a JDM ITR 4 lug conversion.

Nope. The ITR has ABS and the 99-00 SI doesnt. Since he is swapping this into 96-00 civic which has no abs...he needs the prop valve from the 99-00 si.

Yes he would have to use 99-00 si or any JDM EK4/EK9 prop. The itr prop. I found out will not work on EKs. The EKs use their own prop. valves.

Has anybody successfully used an MC/Booster off of an ABS car on a non-ABS car? Does the MC/Booster have additional lines coming out of it that get routed to the ABS equipment? If so, would it be possible to cap off those lines at the MC to make it "non-ABS"? I have access to a 94-00 GSR MC/Booster (orig ABS equipped) to use on my EG. Can it be done?

You should be more concerned about the P/V than the MC/Booster. I have a 96 CX and used a 99-00 SiR (Canadian spec Si with ABS) MC/Booster with a CTR PV. Everything bolted up perfectly. My friend used an ITR MC/Booster/PV, and he had to reflare the lines to the PV.

heres exactly what you do. Get a 1998-2001 GSR 4 door BMC and booster. Bolts right in, no bending. I have it on a 96 DX with 5 lug. **** brakes on a dime. I also used a 99 SI prop valve. This is all straight forward and very effective!

oh and that MC and booster is 1 inch for the 4 dr teg... The big ****, romur has it, if you can find a 96 accord wagon with abs, this booster is, get this, inch and 1/16. No lie. Very hard to find. Good info for you brakin buffs. I dont know if thats for sure or not..

I just found a '98 JDM non-ABS ITR proportioning valve for sale. Will it bolt onto an EK just as well as one from a 99-00 Civic Si? If it does, would it work better with a 5 lug conversion than the Civic Si proportioning valve?
