Injectors & Hondata
I'm wondering which brand of injector works the best with Hondata? I know RC's can't be smote but what about say Venom's, MSD's, DSM 450's, Bosch, etc. I heard some perform better. I'm looking for an alternative to the expensive RC 440's. I have some DSM 450's, will these work ok? Or do I have to pony up for the RC's.
What are you Hondata guys using with your setup? RC's injectors or something else?

RC440's are expensive, but they are new, perform well, and do not require a resistor pack.
DSM450's do a great cheap, they are cheap, but they do require a resistor pack (see my sig).

Correct Sonny but what about resistance? I read over in the Hondata forums that the Ohms might be different. One of the moderators said quote:" If the DSM injectors have a DC resistance of 4 - 7 ohms then these will not work correctly. It's best to use RC injectors". Looking at the RC website lists the saturated injectors with 12-16 ohms and the P/H's are 2.5-3 ohms. My DSM's measure the 2.5-3 ohms. It's under the 4-7 so I'm guessing thats the wrong direction. So I wonder how the lower resistance could hurt the tuning of the Hondata.
Anyone using DSM with their Hondata?

You can use low impedence (2-5 ohm) injectors with hondata as long as you use the injector resistor. The benefit of using saturated rc's is that you don't have to wire the resistor.
Cool, exactly what I wanted to hear.
I already have the OEM Honda resistor box so it seems like I'm set. I wonder why the 4-7 ohm does not work with Hondata but less or more does. Hmm.

Every DSM injector that I have ever tested has been 2-3 ohms, just like factory Honda low-impedance injectors.
As long as the ECU sees at least 9 ohms, it will be happy. The older cars (pre-OBD1 Civics and Integras) accomplish this by using a 3ohm injector and 6.5 ohm resistor box (what I sell). Total = 9.5 ohms.
The later Hondas did this by using a 12 ohm injector. You can't really hurt anything by having too much resistance (to a point). You can hurt the ECU by having too little resistance. I've tested RC injectors that read as high as 17 ohms and they worked fine (no resistor box in this setup).
