**Hondata... injectors... WTF!**
ok guys... this is where i need some expert advice...
i get hesitant every now and then about getting hondata. some people complain about CELs poppin up and base maps not working with their cars and blah blah blah. a few guys, however, have convinced me to get it. its supposed to be the safest and most reliable way to keep my motor running good. this is my predicament...
im going to order the hondata 2b. as for the injectors... should i stick to getting the 440cc rc injectors? or should i get the 450cc dsm injectors? im wondering which would benefit me the most besides price. im not too educated about injector theory and so forth. i just want to make sure i go the right route before i step up to the plate and spend money i dont have on hondata.
negative and postive comments and opinions are welcome. i want to make sure i dont make a mistake and waste the only money i have left for bills in the bank.

Here's a detailed article on the DSM injectors with resistor pack. Unless you get some kind of amazing deal on 440cc injectors, I would go with this.

Well, $ per cc, DSM's are the way to go. Had I been more familair with them months ago, I woulda gotten DSM's instead of RC's, but I'm happy with my RC's

I am in the process of using the DSM injectors from a 95 turbo eclipse with a resistor box. Well, last nite I took out the honda clip and try to mate it to the DSM injectors. They are definitely not plug and play. The injectors were rectangle, and the honda clips where semi oval. Unless you got a set of dremel tool, you gonna have to start custom grind that thing to fit. And then the injectors grommet....They don't fit either. I am having second thoughts on this project. Might end up ordering me some RC injectors.

Get OBD-1 clips from RC or from a DSM dealer or an autoparts store, or a junkyard if you're clever. The grommets/seals also can be sourced from RC. Yeah you pay a few bucks but it doesn't even begin to cover the $ you saved by getting the DSM injectors in the first place.

Beware of NAPA!! The bastards charged my $16 for ONE of the GM clips I used for my RC's.. I found the others at Discount Auto for $2.99 ea/! If it wasn't for the fact that Discount only had like 2 or 3, I woulda gladly gone back to Napa and shoved the other one up somebody's ***!

Grommet's? You mean in the injectors themselves? Well, it took me about an hour to realize the fat seal ring for the RC's don't go IN the manifold like OEM Honda seal rings.. aside from that it was easy

Re: **Hondata... injectors... WTF!** (sgT)
after all the work you do... im starting to think its better to get the 440cc RC injectors. after all, the right thing to do is to send them off to RC anyways to get them cleaned and balanced. can damage your motor if they fail to work. then you still have to get the accessories to make em fit and hook up a resistor box. get the RCs and plug and play that ****. maybe you save $50-$100 overall, but all that trouble.... not worth it overall.
by the way... thanks for your input so far, guys!

get RC550 injectors and the resistor box
what are your power goals? Depending on how high fuel pressures you want to run, the 440s won't support much more than 260-300whp at 85% duty cycle.

Re: **Hondata... injectors... WTF!** (dlplayboy)
well, lets see... i got 130,000+ miles on my STOCK motor... i drive daily on 5lbs... havent taken it past 7lbs when i take it to the track... im pretty much goin to keep it that way. funds are short... so i keep it boosted at a safe psi. should i just stick to the fmu and fuel pump setup? why??

Its really not that hard, I would go with the hondata 2b, 450 dsm injectors and the resistor box. With the fmu your fuel pressuer under boost is like 100psi and with stock injectors, thats not exactly fuel control, its more like just dumping a lot of fuel in with your injectors maxed out and hanging wide open, peace.

hey dustin,
you dont seem interested in the hondata setup... why? or are you actually getting one? i figured since you know so much, you would know its better to run on hondata then the current fmy setup you already have.
