p72 ecu on a b16a??
thats my current setup, i have posted this b/fore and i think that this ECU is killin me in performance..so..this past week i ordered a JUN chipped P28 ECU...since both of the ECU's are OBD1 - wont the just unplug/ plug back in car start rightup??
the JUN chip has a 9200 Redline with a 4400 or 5700 VTEC X-OVER...i was thinkin i am not going to go above 8300 with the stock valvetrain...but will these ECU just plug and play?? and do you guys think i will notice a difference
i ran a 14.96@91.05 with the P72 with no rear seat - its how i drive daily...i was hopein with the ECU i can hit a 14.6 or 14.5 @94 something like that...do you guys think it is possible??

P72 on a B16A, doesn't run all that great so you actually might be able to do but it depends on the program you will be getting from JUN. there are many variants and types some are more aggressive then others
i ran a p72 on a turbo b16 for about 6 months. no problems but i hated the 4500 vtec swithchover.
then i ran a b16 computer and a world of difference.

i ran a p72 ecu on my old b16 setup and got cruddy gas mileage. I liked the performance better with the p30 ecu.
That was then though, now i'm using the b18c1 w/ p72.

VTEC is way too low on a P72 for a b16.
5700 vtec will be nice on your b16.
On my old b16 I had vtec at 5800 and it pulled like crazy.
edit*** I also have a V-AFC so I can change it.

i also have a p72 on my b16a2. I lose power when i hit vtec @ 4400 and gain it back at 5500; feels like a big hole. My gas mileage isn't that great either(only 28-30mpg with highway driving)Since I already have a OBDII->OBDI wiring harness, would a chipped p28 or p30 be plug and play? What would be the best one to go with?

As far as programs I can't say which one is best. I have a Katman chipped P28 to Mugen specs and it makes a pretty good difference. Gas mileage sucks, but you have to sacrifice some things when you want a fast car.
