Default HT members, help a friends out and lend me your advice...

Im caught in quite a predicament. I have pretty much 3 options to do performance

work to my 94' EX. (1) Build the d16 (2) Swap in a b16 (3) swap in a b18b...and

mind you, all these engines are going to get boosted, regardless. I guess my

problem lies in which engine should i choose ? My budget tops out at

about $5k ($3k and change in an account). I am looking to run mid 13's

hopefully on my 17's () and a full interior.
The d16 currently has 263k miles

on it (living legend, yes I know), so if any work is to be done it would have to be

rebuilt, allowing me to do block work Please guide this newbie to a faster car

(mind you my 1st ahah.) Thx in advance :D

I know the B18A/B is better for boost b/c of low cr and has more tq, but I still wanna recommend getting the b16a. It will be more fun to drive because of its better tranny in my opinion (even though some people like LS tranny for turbo) and it likes to rev...until you get the turbo and then it will be a LOT of fun!

u can get good results from a boosted b18!...the tranny has longer gears to..good for boosting..fully built low compression..good clutch and fly wheel..and u can hit 13 with 17's on easy..now the only problem u have is chosing what part manufactures to go with...heres what i would chose off the top of my head..
rev hard manifold, tial wastegate, maybe a t3t4 garret turbo, jg edelbrock intake manifold, greddy giant blow off valve, spearco intercooler, arias or je pistons, crower or eagle rods,9:5:1 compression...stock crank unless u want over 400 whp,
arp head studs 2 layer head gasket, head work and cams optiional, msd 6al,msd coil
new wires magnecor etc,3 inch full exshaust piping, hks supr drager exshaust, etc
im sure i left a few things but u get the point...this will go over ur budget...im sure u can find a nice setup with some searching...hint hint force induction classfied forum....i would follow someonespath that has already done this before..theres no bigger headache than having a guinea pig project...keep us updated fast n simple
has never gone wrong
