what to do when car is overheated???
what am i suppose to do whe the car over heats? my freinds has an ls/vtec and he put water in the radiator and turned on the engine and said that it has to suck the water in slowly. what else is there to do. and what is the most effective way?
I think I read somewhere that the new thermostats get stuck open, so the engine can't overheat. If you see the temp gauge in the red, I think you have to call a tow truck. I'm pretty sure that when it gets too hot, you'll crack the block ($$$$$).
well if it starts to get to hot turn on your heater in the car and it will disipate some of the heat and you can stop at a gas station and spray some water on the radiator while the car is runing
Like ViZ said, all I ever do is turn off my motor, but turn the key far enough so that "heat" will come out. I make sure it is sucking in outside air, because then it comes straight from the motor, and I leave it on untill cold air blows out of the vents. Another thing that has helped while doing this is to open your hood, because that is another good technique. Either way, good luck.
is there any thing i can do like putting water in the radiator hose type. it seems faster than turning on the heater. we (me and the guy wtih ls/vtec) were getting to reace and the coolant temp was almost to red.
happens to me quite often cus i cant afford to fix my radiator yet. Anyways blast the heat, open all the vents. If it is realllllllly hot then pop the hood latch and go no faster then 40, if its windy then dont even try that.

Your in el paso? Are you going to the west texas track or Thunder alley? If you put in cool or cold water in while the engine is warm you run the risk of cracking or warping hot metal parts.
