Default No heat inside car after rad replacement!

I had my radiator replaced a few days ago and now I get lukewarm air when I turn on the heater (even though the temperature gage sits around the half way mark). I tried switching over from hot to cold (on panel) and there is a difference, but the HOT air is not really hot.

I have a feeling that this may be related to something that was forgotten or neglected when the radiator was changed but i'm not sure what it could be!

Any ideas?
Thanks!

maybe you forgot to bleed the air out at the heater

Does it take a really long time for the coolant temp guage to move up towards the middle? If so the thermostat is stuck open, if not then it's probably fine and your problem lies elsewhere, maybe an air pocket like was mentioned above.

Actually the coolant temp guage rises at the usual speed, which would imply that the Thermostat is OK. Most likely an air pocket then. You'd think that they would do this correctly after installing the rad. Damn it's hard to get good help these days!

Thanks!

Opening the bleeder, Hmmm, do you mean fluid overflow tank?

Thanks for your help!

There is a bleeder screw (similar to the one on the brake calipers) right near where the upper radiator hose attaches to the engine. Open that slightly and wait for the coolant to come out steady (not dribbling, which means some air is coming out). Also you need to squeeze the upper hose w/ the rad. cap off to get more air out. Squeeze it rapidly until no more air bubbles can be seen in the top of the radiator.
