Hey guys, I have some scratches on my Windshield from the plastic part of the wiper rubbing on the glass (when I would use the wipers). Its just a surface scratch, but Its annoying to look at. Does anyone have any suggestions of how to buff this out or get some sort of cleaner?

meguiars sells plastic and glass polish if i'm not mistaken.

i think the name of it is googone or googon not sure but it works pretty well on mostly anything. or try a tiny bit of gasoline on a rag.

 

for a scratch, u sure?

 

resurrecting this.. have the problem b/c damn broken windshield wiper.. Anyone know any good products or solutions?

 

the mcguires wax/substance for glass worked pretty good, but it didnt get rid of it all, just made it less noticeable..

 

eastwoodco.com sells a glass POLISHING kit, it's hardcore and will get rid of it for sure, not like other commonly available substances. just be careful not to go hog wild, cuz TOO much polishing will change the optical properties of the glass!!

I guess I'll look around and see how much a whole new windshield is.

 

i know it might sound weird.....but we used gasoline...it buffed out the scratches a little, but the scratches were too deep, so some still showed. if only a little is there it might get rid of it. just make sure u wash/wipe it off with some cleaner afterwards

 

i work at an auto glass shop, and i can tell you this....
there is polishing kits sold from quite a few companies, but they usually wont do much,..and sorry to tell you this,but theres not much more than that you can do besides change the glass......
