Default Dim Drivers side headlight

I just bought an 87 Honda Accord, And the drivers side headlight is dim. I thought maybe it was just the light so I swithed it with the passenger headlight and it was still dim. Any suggestions on what this might be? Thanks for any info.

Check the wires behind the headlight, they tend to break from repeated opening and closeing.

Haha, I have the same problem with mine. I've been too lazy to play with it though. I guess I'll have to check it out.

Ive Wiggled wires and I checked all fuses. Im stumped, Maybe I will pull out the volt meter and see what kind of voltage I am getting. Even when you flip the high beams it still stays dim. But the light shuts off for a second, then comes back on.

my mom just bought a 91 accord wagon a few days ago and it had a dim driver's side headlight. I just figured that it was a bad bulb, and swapped it out. still dim. checked the fusebox under the hood and saw that there was no fuse in the slot for the driver's side headlamp. I stuck in a 20 amp fuse and everything's fine now.. maybe you should check those fuses out.

I checked the Fuse box under the hood on the passenger side and the one under the dash and they were all fine. Any other thoughts?

You could have a loose ground, open wire, or corroded contacts in the headlight connector

Mine does that too. I've been told that the plugs corrode too. I'd check mine out but it's too damn cold out. On my other third gen, the wires got piched and were shorting out. It would cause the high beam indicator on the dash to stay on regardless and weird things would happen to the lights themselves.

It's only one headlight though. (for me the left one) Wouldn't the switch affect both equally?

Pull the bulb out and check the contacts for corrosion. Scrape it with a small screwdriver or razor to ensure a good contact.

I replaced the bulb in mine and it does the same thing. I'm betting it's the plug or wires behind the plug.

I just fixed this on my neighbors Saturn. He got a new plug at Pep Boys for a few bucks, and I soldered the new plug in place. Only took a couple minutes.

Good deal. Do they sell the factory style plugs or is it just a universal fit for that particular headlight?

He went and bought the part, but it fit just as good as the stock one.

Got the part at Auto Zone-part #85810
The old wires were missing insulation and broken. When I pulled on them, they pulled right out. The old plug was very corroded too. I bought the new plug and spliced it in. It wasn't too hard.
Old wires and plug...
