OBD2 B18C1 into EG OBD1 hatch
Hey guy's,
I've done a search but the info is in dribbs and drabbs with a few links here and there to hybrid garage and cspeed and other hondatech posts and what not.
If a certain opportunity arrises I may beable to fill my engine bay with a B18C1 (now I'm running partially built boosted Z6).
Anyway what I'm wondering is my car is wired for OBD1 and this swap would be OBD2 (lets say I get the whole GSR, entire car) so whats the deal for this OBD2 motor.
I know if I take the harness and the ecu, two o2 sensors and what not then thats no prob. But I've come to understand that maybe I should keep my existing P25 ecu and just jet it reprogrammed for ODB1 dohc vtec (would a reprogram beable to handle the primary and secondary butterflies?). Plus we all know that OBD1 reponds better to mods anyway.
But if I go OBD1 I will need to change all the OBD2 sensors and wiring or add and delete wires etc. Basically look for an OBD1 intake manifold..............then I would look for a B16A manifold or an LS manifold and port match it.
It would be great to get some feed back on this post.
Cheers

Ok after reading all the linked posts I am coming to this understanding.
The obd2 harness on the motor plugs into my obd1 shock tower harness. Fine and dandy thats just plug and play. As for the vtec wires, when I did my D16Z6 swap into my DX hatch I had to run the vtec wires from the engine harness to the cabin and ecu..................2 wires no big deal.
So for the obd2 B18C1 I maintain all the existing obd2 motor components, ecu, intake manifold etc.................again easy.
But I have to add a knock sensor, secondary butterflies and convert to the 4 wire O2 sensor, thats no prob. What do you mean by converting the O2 sensor? Can I just use the one on my Z6 motor right now?
What are the wires I have to plug off?
Does it sound like I have a grip on this or wha?
