intelliglow needles
i'm sick of my indiglos, becoming old imo. i am in the process of switching over to a integra cluster from my civic one. i've researched on how to do it and i've began. i'm not sure if i should just get colored bulbs (led blue) behind the cluster, leave it, or try out these intelliglow ones. what do you think?
if you are not sure what the intelliglow needles are http://www.importcarpartsplus.com/Needles.htm

the needles would at least be something that most people don't do...plus you can tell everyone that asks about em that it's a rare mongolian cluster or something like that

Those are hot. In a mag I have they had a teg with those blue needles and white faced gauges for every gauge, including gauges in the pod and on the dash. Looks really good. Adds to the atmosphere of driving
all jokes aside those actually look nice in real life.....the only thing is that it didn't last on my friends eg.....he had em one for like 2 months...then....the needle on the tach just gave way.....stick with stock or just get amber bulbs
aha its the infamous s13 cluster i see everywhere.
they look ok, but i'd turn them down a little.
i think it would be cool to have the needles change color only when reaching one point to the other like go from green to yellow to red when climbing the tach, or the speedometer, or go from green to yellow to red on the coolant and fuel gauges.

I'm not one to pull the rice flag out.
..but I am now. I don't think they're too functional. Just drawing attention to oneself - LED windshield wiper style.
Now if they were white and as the RPM's climbed - turned to amber/red - that would be pretty cool/functional. I'm sure it could be done by tapping the RPM wire on the ECU. Infact, I just might make a trip down to the patent place.

does anyone know first hand HOW these work? is there an indiglo cover underneath the needle? or is the light source from the center of the needle? if it's ON the needle, i could see how it could wear out the needle motoring... and it might not be the best idea.

those needles look like light sabers.
Good luck in your search.
Those things will get annoying as the Indiglo guages did.
I suggest you either stick with blue covered regular light bulbs. LED's arent good for guage clusters because of the way they direct light. Its usually too narrow of an angle and not board enough to cover your whole cluster. Youll end up with bright spots and dark spots.
