Default Comptech race header?

I have inquired about the Comptech race header which is a 4-2-1 long tube header with 2.5" collector but Comptech claims a cat. will not bolt onto this header and even though there is a O2 bung the check engine light will come on with the O2 in place. Comptech will also have a race exhaust available soon but has any bought this header and made it work with a high flow cat.? I would think this header would adapt a cat. just like the other 2.5" collector headers out there.

put on your flame suit...

SEARCH

btw: the header is loner than your current. you'd need a 2.5" cat, shortened to a custom length.. blah blah blah

I read through all the above posts and none of them answer my question. All the people just did was complain that Comptech did or did not copy someone eles design. Mine is a tech question not an opinion.

It requires the same modifications to the exhaust system that the HyTech header requires.

i think the comptech race header ends up being the same length as your oe header + cat. this means it is way longer than most aftermarket headers. if you wanna run a cat you would have to modify the exhaust to accept the cat. ie: shorten the b-pipe and change the flange. don't quote me though..maybe call comptech?
i think it is sold as a race piece, it does not carry a carb# which means even with a cat, you shouldn't pass smog.

Call "Nate" at Comptech with any questions at all, he`s always more than happy to answer them. He might even join honda-tech.
