How big is the collector on Comptech's R header?
Small enough to get POUNDED by my 2.5" jdm dc, 2.5" carsound and stock exhuast. Right, Nate?
Then again, I don't have a 60,000 watt system in my trunk weighing me down.
Just playin'.
The comptech header/exhaust ID is 2.25".

Comptech has a new header correct? The one that is supposed to be a copy of hytech w/ a 2.5" ID, I think... is that on there website yet and how much does that go for? anybody?

Yeah they do have a new 4-2-1 with a 2.5" collector. It also replaces the cat/test pipe or whatever you have and runs straight to the exhaust. Retail is $1250.
I have this header (regular 2.25") on my b16 and it makes great midrange but I want to know how you guys with 1.8's like it b/c I'm about to have one.

TypeR#1111 has the whole exhaust system, I think. Including the 2.25" header. He posted above, hopefully he looks back and can give a review on it. Personally, I like the 2.5" ID better. It was a significant increase from the stock header/cat. If you aren't crazy about Comptech, there's Toda, and a slew of other 2.5" ID headers with excellent performance.

Actually the comptech header collector is 2 inches, not 2.25"
The R header is the exact same header they market for the LS.
Comptech's new "b-series" race header is just a copy cat design of the the Hytech header. They basically let Hytech do all the R & D and then pretty much copied it. Original.....way to go guys.
On an ITR with just mild bolt on's (i/h/c/e) the Comptech header and exhaust should be okay. Some people say that 2" collector is too small for the heavy breathing C5, but check out how the "peuny" 2" collector kept up vs. the 2.5" guys in The Great Header test.
If you going for more serious modificaitons.....then 2.5" collector and piping will be your best bet.

To be honest, I like my full Comptech set-up a lot, but am starting to consider changing to a JDM 4-1 2.5" header next summer. With the Comptech setup i'm using and some v-afc tuning I was able to put 172 to the wheels. Comptech makes great quality products, but for their price you can find a 2.5" setup and squeeze more power out of the C5. My comptech header and exhaust will probably be up for sale by the end of winter, so if your interested let me know.

All USDM header collectors are 2". Including comptech.
I did some research and I was wrong...the Comptech header does have a 2" collector and not 2.25" like I previously stated. Sorry for the false information

i called it "The Great Un-tune Header Test"
While I agree w/ you that it was lame that all of the seups were untuned. The Comptech still held its own.
On a tuned R.....I suspect that the difference between the 2.5" collector setups would have been more substantial.

.....
true, but the Great Header Test isn't that accurate. none of them were tuned after the header was install. with a vfac or engine management, hp would differ from the test.
