Default turbo a d series!?!?

well im planning to swap a d16y8 into my 93 del sol and i plan to tubo it with the rev hard stage 2c kit. what do you guys think of that. i know some people that turboed their d series and got a custom fit rev hard turbo and ran mid 12's (DnH) so would it be a good idea to turbo a d series, i jus want it nice and simple i dont really like the b series just because i dont have that kind of money if i turbo it and seems a little more complicated. so tell me what you guys think

rock a D. I have heard that the crank girdle in the y8 is aluminum and prone to breaking tho. You may want to use a d16z6 crank girdle...

That's a load of horse **** if i ever heard it.

and to the creator of this post, go for it, turbo your D block it will take it.

But... herez a few pointers

*get a thicker head gasket
*don't boost over 10 psi, at all
(I know "it can be done" but that don't make it a good idea now does it.)
*do it right the first time (search if you don't know what this means)
*KISS (search on this also)

ohh yeah if you don't take it to the drags ALL the time and you are just looking to stomp some GT mustangs and "hang" with an SS here & there you can look forward to about 50k boosted miles. But if your a dumbass your motor will go BOOM!!!

Good Luck

i have this same question.what is a good kit to get. i want to have power and be able to upgrade later if i want. i don't plan on doing any internal work right off, but as i get more cash, i plan on getting forged internals, a standalone, and a turbo profile cam (if i even need the cam). i would also get it tuned properly before i got insane with te boost. so what would be a good kit to hit around 195-220 whp, and be a good daily driver.

build your own kit, get all of the best stuff and do it right the first time and you wont regret it.

so what would the Apexi kit (does that include an intercooler) with the fuel system, as well as perhaps Hondata tuning run me... what all would be needed for the fuel system?

ACtually the strongest D girdle is from the D16A6.
