Default ZC Drivability Problem!

Hey guys,
Im working on a 89 Civic Hb with ZC swap. Now while driving the check engine light will come on and vehicle will loose power and not beable to go over 10 or so mph! The vehicle is throwing a code 4. The distributor was recently replaced due to this same problem but has no cured it. The problem is very intermittant and has only happened about 3 or 4 times. Any ideas or help on this would greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Andy

Does it really bog down really bad? Check your wiring and vacuum lines also. I remember when I had my MAP not plugged up with a vacuum line, I could barely climb a small hill and I couldn't go fast at all even when I floored it.

triple check your timing and your belt. If its not a honda belt buy a honda belt. I had a new Gates belt that jumped time EVERY time it went over 4,000 rpm. Make sure its tight enough.

Thanks guys for the advice. I have checked all the said items you guys mentioned. The timing belt is Honda and yes was installed about 5k miles ago. Also the distributor is new and is not locked up. Also the code 4 is crankshaft sensor and this is a internal sensor in the dist. and can no be replaced unless replacing whole dist. assembly. Also this motor has all new headgasket and other gasket needed along with no vacuum leaks noted at this time. Another ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

Also this problem is very intermittant so thing s like timing belt and such would not apply since vehicle runs perfect 99% of the time.

Thanks,
Andy

Check your wiring to your distributer. Make sure it isn't loose. Also make sure its not shorting anywhere either. Also check your grounds. That can cause any sort of symtoms , intermittant too if they are loose. The crank angle sensor may be internal but the physical plug and the wiring is external. Give that a real solid look over.
