which electronic vss should i use? 94 and up integra or 92 and up civic or either one. installing jdm cluster. i tried searching. b16 motor y1 tranny. also anybody with an 89 civic with the jdm cluster figure out the dimmer switch?

 

i know the 94+ teg vss work for sure.....not sure about the 92 civic

 

any one know if the civic one fits cause i know somebody who has one.

 

I have an 88 DX hatch with a jdm cluster and I'm currently using the stock dimmer switch. I originally just transferred the plug to the new switch and it worked for a few weeks until the switch broke...dont know if it shorted or what...but all cluster lights go out if I plug it to the new dimmer switch(wheel type), so I kept it on the old one (**** type).

 

EF_LSVtec which vss are you using? i guess nobody knows if the civic electronic vss will work.

 

I used a GSR VSS...I'm assuming any B-Series electronic VSS should work. Just drop it in the tranny, wire it and wallah. One for the lead (connects to the ECU), Ground and switched power. Let me know, if you need anything else.

 

did the d-series 92 and up civics have an electronic vss? would they work with the b-series tranny?

 

that I'm not sure...B to B series parts mostly interchange but not B to D series...you can always try...and to your other question, the 92 and up Civics have electronic VSS's

 

my stock cable vss (89 civic) works right now with the b16 tranny. would d-series electronic vss work with the 89 civic stock tranny?

thats really odd because when I did my swap, the stock D series VSS did not work on my B16 tranny...I wonder if because its from a DX, hmmm...But D to D should work, manual to electronic.

 

my civic is an si. so d to d will work. thanks. by the way do you have any jdm body parts for sale? or know somewhere i could find some. i already have the SiR front end. also do you have any pics of the side skirts and the rear wing

i guess that site is having trouble hosting the US service manual. check back there later. here is the link to the UK manual. the UK manual doesnt have a pic as good though. it doesn't show what the control box looks like (2x3 black box) and where it is (attached to the steering column, i think).
