Help on removing tranny
I'm in the process of removing my tranny. I haven't unbolted it yet, but I will be in a quople hours.
I'm unbolting it with the clutch housing too. My question is... does it just come right off? I mean slide out like the axles do?
And.. when I'm ready to put it back on, I use nothing but hondabond right?
How about torqueing it down? The bolts around the clutch housing should be torqued ____ ft-lbs?
I don't have my helms right now unfortunately. I'm just taking this off so I can replace the shifter shaft (it's bent).
TIA

This page should help you a bit: http://www.c-speedracing.com/howto/b...tch/clutch.php
I dont think you have to use HondaBond at all. At least I didnt. Might have to remove the exhaust manifold, especially if you have a 4-1 header. The bolts on the bottom will more than likely be in the way.
I have seen people remove the axles and seen OTHER people NOT remove the axles. Kind of interesting. Id like to know how.

I didnt use honda bond either. I cant look up the torque specs right now cuz im my girlfriends, i will later though.....its vital you torque them properly, otherwise you'll be in some ****.
Hey did you ever try to bend it back or no? I don't have the torques handy but keep track of where the bolts from the tranny came from.. There are bolts that look nearly identical but are just barely longer then the other, and will bottom out in the tranny housing if you mix them up. Also, when putting the tranny back together don't forget the brackets for the slave cyl, etc. If you torque the bolts down w/o them you will crack the case.
Hardest part is the snap ring.
Somebody hook him up with some torque specs..

Damn man. If you can wait another week or so I am having a work-on-car day in my driveway. We are swapping out the Toda cams out of that black ITR from the other night, and then putting a B16 in my '92. There will be plenty of people around then to help you out, but it looks like you are already on your way.
If you need any help PM me, I'll prolly recieve it pretty quick.
