Default how to pull axles out of the tranny?

now this is on my 91 corolla, sorry, Didnt know who else to turn to, and I figured all these japanese cars should be pretty similar.

so on sunday, I worked all day and seperated everything so that both axles are only attached to the tranny. I tried prying (like the haynes manual said) and everything else I could think of, but the damn thing won't pop out of the tranny.

Looking at the new axles, it should just pop out of the tranny. so Im at a loss, could anyone help me out here?

btw, anyone remember that long thread on how-to swap axles?

You want to use the widest mini pry bar possible so you do not damage the tranny or the axles. If you need any more help IM me.

the easiest way I found was the prybar way too but pull towards the outside of the car and don't push in

I've had tremendous sucess with removing the tie rod end, the brake line clamps, as well as the lower ball joint and pulling the entire knuckle outward. Never had to do much prying at all. Of course you have to be careful not to yank the abs line death.
