Default question on tranny removal

I'm getting ready to install my new clutch and flywheel (Clutch Masters all around). For those of you who've pulled the tranny before, did you also remove the axles? Having had them out numerous times before, I don't look forward to remove BOTH those axle nuts again so I'm thinking, if I separate the knuckle from the LCA, I might be able to swing the axles out of the way and save myself the hassle of removing them. Possible?

i had a friend that did that b/c he did not have a 32mm(i think) socket to loosen the axle nut...i have gotten away with just taking out the passenger side and leaving the driver...but it is possible to do it without pulling the axles-

Just pull the axles out of the tranny, unbolt the the strut from the control arm, then you can just swing them out of the way. That way you dont have to remove the axles from the hubs.
