Crankshaft pulley bolt gone!
yeah, i had the same problem in my first CRX,, ****** crank shaft pulley said "peace" while i was doing 70 on the highway. i pulled over and the engine was still runnning, so i was like, sweet,,,, went for 4 more blocks and then she let loose. blew the engine due to the timing belt moving over and nuking against the timing cover. i make sure that bolt is cranked on for dear life from now on!!!
my helms says that the bolt for a crx should be at 119 ft lbs not 80. be sure to lube the threads with oil but dont get any non the washer contact surfaces.

i work for honda and it doesnt matter what you torque it to as long as its tight the engine will tighten it up as you drive unless you have something seriously wrong
I'm really not trying to be an *** here but when you say that you work for honda do you mean that you are a tech there or that you actually design their engines? Personally I go by what the factory service manual says as opposed to what some tech that works for honda says.I am not saying that you are one but I have seen more than my fair share of honda techs tht I would not let anywhere near my car, let alone touch such as important part as the crank pulley. If you have the means to tourqe the bolt to the actual spec then do it, if not then find a way to make sure that that bolt is as tight as you can get it then take it somewhere and have them tourqe it for 5 dollars. But I am also the type who actually tourqes my valve cover, etc...
Just my $.02

LOL, just cause you work for honda means you have all the answers. As was said i don't care who you are in Honda, I will trust the Helms manual.
At least someone else agrees with me
