could you pass emissions with a obd1 ecu in an obd2 car?
I'm thinking about going back to obd2 and ditching the obd2-1 harness becuase of emssions issue.. but I'm not sure.. if i were to just use say an obd1 stock p30 in an 96 civic i should pass emissions or would i have to convert it back to obd2 just for the test? anyone gone through this?
you know i'm not sure about it.... I was thinkin the same thing.... When they DEQ'ed my friend's EK/GSR they discovered that I didn't wire the EVAP solenoid and secondary oxygen sensor when i did his swap... Damn smart OBD2... I was gonna run a jumper and a P28 to see what would happen but then my friend just registered his car at school and now he doesn't have to DEQ it... Good Luck... Lemme know what happens... Latez
well i dont plan on getting the test done anytime soon.. i'm just saying has anyone gone through this? bump again.
I think it depends largely on where you live. In Md if you pass the sniffer, you pass the test. any properly tuned OBD1 car should pass the sniffer.
