need pic of Fast Idle valve on 97 LS motor
You have one unless you or someone else has already removed it and tapped the holes.... On your car it will be on the bottom side of the throttle body... If you still need pics i'll try to get you some.. Peace
yes please post pics, because when I look at the underside of the throttle body all I see is the coolant lines running through it. when I looked up the throttle body pictures on acuraautomotiveparts.net, there were 2 types of throttle bodies, one that had a valve assembly underneat the throttle body, and one that didn't. So I think that I have the throttly body without the valve assembly. Anyway, let's say I find the fast idle valve, can I adjust it or something to make it work right, or can you only replace it? Thanks again.
The only two type of FITV are the old style that bolt directly to the manifold under the throttle body.... and the newer style that bolt directly to the bottom side of the throttle body... Whenever I've had problems with the FITV i don't normally replace them.... The easist thing to do is open up the back end that faces the firewall and screw down the valve so that it doesn't open up at all... For there you can just run a solid line from you manifold or thermostat housing to ur IAC... I'll try to get you some pics... Latez
I guess you could say that... It's got the screw in it and i figure that if you close it down slightly from stock it will just make the car idle a bit lower when warming up... Never really checked into it... I just figured this out cuz i pulled it off a lont time ago to see how the thing worked.. The only time i do this is when i'm getting problems with cars idling too high... Most of the time it's a bad FITV... Latez
Here, try this link, this is what my intake manifold looks like

Link not good at the moment.
My fast idle valve is disconnected too. The only problem I have is when it is really cool outside and I havent started it for like 2-3 days then I have to sit there holding the gas pedel down til it warms up.

Yea this is the new style manifold with the FITV on the bottom side of the throttle body... I would pull the throttle body and check out you FITV (it should be there, if it isn't then i'm not sure where it went)... The cooand hose should be connected to it... From either the thermostat housing or your intake manifold to it.... The from the FITV to the IAC... Good Luck

It is part of the throttlebody, located on the bottom.

See the two nipples on the bottom side...that is the fast idle.

different motor but look at the last page:

I could be wrong but i think those nipples are just to warm the throttle body to keep it from freezing up. There is no fast idle valve. Look there is no hole in the bottom of the throat for air to enter like throttle bodies with the fast idle valves. Only in the upper left to the IACV. I think the IACV just flows more air to compensate.
there are 3 styles. 1 with coolant to the fast idle valve and throttle body seperately, 1 with coolant to the throttle body which then routes it through the fast idle valve, and 1 with no fast idle valve (pictured)

Ok then, I stand corrected. I know it didnt look right.
