Yeah I'd like to know what I destroyed when I connected that ground to my starter. I'm getting no spark now but dizzy has power at coil and ICM.

THAT IS THE MAIN GROUND FOR THE ECM.

It is there to get good references from the engine sensors.

I'll second the above about it's the ground for all the engine sensors. It also grounds the sheilded wires between the distributor and the ECU.

those black wires ground the whole ecu harness.
car no run w/o it!!!!
trust me i know. 2 yrs ago when I did my b16a in my hatch, I test fit the motor in the car, removed it and the prepped the motor. However, upon reinstallation, I forgot to bolt the ground on and the car wouldn't start. I racked my brain trying to figure it out for 1 week. Then, I said fukit and I pulled the motor out again and found the problem, doh!!
Thats the last time I forgot about that.

Well, if car won't get a spark even though there is power to the coil etc., and the ecu has shown code #8, is it likely that the distributor ground part was damaged? how should you test for continuity whith harness on the motor? Also, I tried my friends 91 Si distributor instead of my PWO and it showed code #20. When I tried my pwo again it showed code #8. Now it just flashes once when I first turn the key
thanks

on the dissy there are a set of two wires.one is thina nd blue that is your tach wire.the other is black with yellow strip i believe or dark blue with yellow.check the contnuity on the thicker wire.make sure the harness plug isnt too loose or messed up
