Default using a jdm obd1 p72 with h22a

im trying to help a friend out he bought a accord with a jdm h22a but whoever did the swap before put the accord P0A ecu back into it i found a decent price on a jdm obd1 P72 ecu and im wondering if this would work.

no i wouldn't do it. I believe someone on here also did this and ended up blowing their motor. The p72 will cause you to run too lean in the upper rpm's. Someone correct me if i'm wrong.

its fine i have a h22a1 on my delsol with hondata prgm and its running fine
stock h22a1 with hondata.

yeah, the obd1 p72 will work great 'cause it has IAB control like a p13. p13 would be the best bet, but that's only if everything on the motor is wired up like it should be (EGR, etc...). if you run the p72, make sure and get it chipped (or go Hondata with it) to add more fuel, 'cause it will run the h22 lean. instead of chipping you could also run a VAFC or SFC-VTEC and tune it that way.

Running a p72 ECU will lean out your fuel mixture. This will cause running issues in the low to mid RPM ranges. It will however, make more power up top. I would only do this with the addition of a VAFC and some tuning on a dyno.
