Default flashing abs light

hello again, another question from me, "the rookie". i did a search and couldnt find much. i was checking my cel code and when i did that the abs light started flashing also, is this normal? i looked at it and it gave a single long flash, followed by 6 short flashes. any reason why?

do you know what that abs trouble code means? i know the check engine light is the secondary o2 sensor, but i never knew the abs light flashing meant something too.

My abs flashes when the brake pads are low. Might wanna check those.

Edit: But the best thing to do is to check the code in the helms manuel.

When the brake fluid is low, it can cause the red "brake " light on the dash to come on. That can also trigger an ABS code. I will check at work tomorrow what ABS code #16 represents.

ABS code #16 is the right rear wheel speed sensor. Check the wiring to the speed sensor and check the teeth on the little gear at the right rear wheel. The sensor itself may be the problem. Seen a couple of bad sensors before.

i had my abs light throw a code 81 a few weeks ago, which is a bad abs unit. well... i reset it and it didn't come back for a while. then it did it again, i reset it, and it hasn't done it again yet. any ideas what that might be from?

I was up to my fuggin ears in ABS and other electrical codes. All turned out to be related to a bad alternator.

A bad connection or you may actually have a bad ABS control unit.

what exactally does this speed sensor do? does it determine how to apply the abs, depending on the speed you are traveling?

ABS unit monitors wheel speed sensors to determine when to activate ABS control solenoids.
