Default Please help, what could be wrong with my profec b?

I went to the dyno today to get tuned by sgt, but my boost controller wasn't working right. When steve tried to turn up the boost, it would just increase the slightest bit. He ended up turning the **** way up (to what should have been 15-20 psi), but it still wouldn't boost over ~9 psi. When we hooked up a manual boost controller, everything worked fine, so it has to be the profec not working. I checked everything and it seems to be hooked up right. So, what's wrong? Thanks guys.

It's hooked up with one port of the stepper to top wastegate port, other port tee'd to side port of wastegate and compressor housing. Dip switches were set up for external wastegate, no overboosting. I should go check them just to be sure though, but I don't think that's the problem.

ok i'm looking at the instruction manual for the profec b, it looks like for an external wastegate, the side port of the wastegate should go to the intake manifold. then you run a line from the intake manifold to the "IN" port of the stepper motor. is that what you have? hope this helps

well i am using the compressor as the boost source for the in port instead of the im. This is what people suggest usually.

really? it just doesn't seem like the compressor housing could be as reliable as the im for pressure. used to have a mbc, and it would never hold boost running off the compressor. i ran a line to the im and it held boost, but now i have the profec b (rss for traction)

I have a profec B as well and it spike like a **** with a Tial 35mm...I heard that if you do it the way the intructions say to do it, it won't work...and that you should use the top port of the WG for anything

I don't know, that was the preferred set-up it seemed a few months ago. Maybe I will try using the IM since I have nothing else to try.

You have it installed correctly for the most part the only thing you need to do is get read of the T you put in that goes to your turbo compressor housing and plug up the hole on your turbo and you should be set and ready to go...

I don't see how that would work, because then you have no pressure source for the stepper. By the way, sgt (steve sakai) confirmed that my set-up was correct, and I think he has tuned enough turbo honda's to know. So guys, I really don't think the hook-up is my problem.

Try this:

Compressor nipple to IN

OUT to the side of the Tial (leaving the top open to air)

I swear it'll work. I have this configuration on my car and couldnt get any others to work.

Bringing this back from the dead....

Im gonna try the internal wastegate setup described above. Are there any negative effects of runnin such a setup on an external WG?

Will it hold boost corectly, and does anyone else run it this way?
