Turbo kit on a high mileage 92 Integra LS?
Kyle's group buy won't let me sleep...I've been having crazy dreams about blow off valves and sh*t...anyway, Thanksgiving is approaching and I'm contemplating whether I should buy the MaxRev kit. I have a 92 LS with about 110,000 mi. Am I crazy to install it on the stock block with such high mileage. I was thinking of being very conservative and running stock boost. My engine is pretty healthy. It doesn't burn any oil, but I just feel that the motor might crap out on me under boost. Also, I don't have the know-how to do it myself (any HT members wanna help....
). Help....I can't sleep

yo man.. might wanna look into the AFC Hack.. that's what i'm gonna start off with on my teg.. and it's got 185k+ miles
it's cheap too!

Do a compression test, healthy LS motors are usually 150-160psi+ across the board, go for it. You said the motor is healthy no burning oil, 110k isn't really even high for a Honda motor, I have a stock 94 DX with 260k miles running strong.
Do a compression check if ok go for it. Remember the LS motors are only 9.2:1CR and good with boost and great torque monsters. Just tune the hell out of it, Hondata is recommended and ssome bigger injectors 440cc or bigger and a good tuner.

I was thinking of RPM NYC to handle the tuning/install. The compression last time I checked was roughly 153 across the board. The reason I'm a little scared is because my last motor fell victim to the n20, lol.
I'd say go for it....and if you search this forum you'll get the know how on how to do it yourself...there are a lot of people in here that can guide you through any problems you may incounter. I have learned lots just by searching and thanks to the kind responses of this guys here.
So stop thinking about it and buy the kit already.

Man, it still kind of eats away at me sometimes. I haven't even touched the gas since I put in this LS motor. I feel like a rape victim or something, lol, j/k.....

Don't worry man. I went turbo with 112,000 miles on my 92 GS. Boosted 8 lbs. daily on a completely stock block for 1 year/18,000 miles. Got tired of only running 8 lbs. and had RPM NYC build up my bottom end with Hondata. They'll take care of ya.
Also FYI a guy local here in VA Beach had a 91 Integra LS BONE STOCK motor with a Rev Hard kit boosting 13psi or so lightened car, no back seats and panels he went 12.50s consistently. Very very fast car, never blew anything, FMU and MSD Inline pump.
He has since sold the car
But now is building a CRX and went all out on the motor very similar to my B16A. Good luck and BOOST IT!

I was thinking of getting the Hondata along with the kit, but I've heard that the tuning is expensive as opposed to running an FMU or SAFC. What do you think?
Don't skip on good tuning and Engine management. That has to be the best investment I've done, FMU and big injectors and V-AFC all that stufff=BIG HEADACHE for me. Hondata=
Or any good standalone engine management system.

I see....
This was my mock setup so far on stock boost:
Max Rev kit
RC 440 cc injectors (I figure, leave room for more power)
Hondata s200
BBK 255lph in-tank fuel pump (already have it)
MSD ignition (don't know which one yet)
NGK BKR7E plugs (have a box full)

Mann.. If I had 190,000 miles I would've gone with 8psi, ..it had 190 & 195's across the board back then, and leak down test showed only -3.5%

Cant tell you how many times I have seen a boosted B18a1 go because of running too much timing
