Brake problems
Hey guys,
This is for my mother.. she owns a 95 Accord and shes experiencing some brake problems.
We're not sure exactly when it happens, but just randomly. The brake pedal requires more and more push before the car slows down. It's as though the braking point goes deeper and deeper.
Like you would normally push the pedal about an inch for it to slow down, sometimes (like i think when the car is going downhill) the brakes fade and you have to push the pedal wayyyy further down to apply the same braking effect. This is also linear, it dosn't just kick in, but the transition is smooth, but only occurs occasionally, i noticed it when i was slowing down as the car was riding downhill. Mum thinks it also happens sometimes when you're coasting very very slowly.
Please help us out if you can.
Thanks!

If it's the original brake fluid definitely do a flush. Over time brake fluid absorbs water and that lowers it's boiling point. When the brake fluid boils, the pedal gets spongy and soft like there is air in the lines. Flush first then check the master cylinder as said previously.
Master cylinder maybe?
kinda like:
brakes "acting up"
------------
[-------](ooo)
------------
brakes "ok"
------------
[-------------](ooo) <---thats the air bubble, outer lines = master cylinder body...
------------
when the air bubble is in the master cylinder...the piston will "blow-by"...
