when doing a y8 head swap do i need a new ecu or could i just get hondata? and what else would i need besides the head and gasket?

 

The d16y5, y7 and y8 all use the same ecu, but with slight differences for manual, automatic, and the 99-00 model update. Keep in mind, these specific ecu's don't support reprogramming. Consider swapping in a ecu from a 92-95 civic or getting a speeduino as a cheap stand alone solution.
