Help with build planning
Hi there, im looking to finish planning a build for my 97 civic Ex 5spd. I have a D16y8 engine that im going to be tearing down and prepping for a rebuild but i want to make sure i get the right parts for what im looking to do. I want to install a turbo kit and tune it on the road until i find a reputable dyno shop near me im hoping to hit between 350-500hp on 2 different tunes one more street daily reliable and the other for track days at my local track. I cant decide on what turbo kit to go for so im going to build a kit from scratch. Ive seen alot of issues with certain manifolds cracking from bad welds and would like to find the most durable option. Im looking to throw a Arashi dynamics Kuro series turbo in the kit, 38-44mm turbosmart wastegate and blowoff. I dont know a reputable source for well made mandrel bent intercooler piping, i know what bolt ons are needed and the obvious arp headstuds new main and thrust bearings YCP vitara spec pistons with no notch long rods( i dont know whether to go for standard or standardX for clearance), D16Z crankshaft, ferrea valves and valve stem seals, Brian crower valve springs and retainers, either a brian crower turbo cam or speedfactory? I dont know a good brand for a catch can, do i need to delete the breather can and pcv, should i replace the valve cover with a mugen variant? Fuel pump and rail suggestions? I want it to be reliable. Should i build the S40 trans with more durable synchros? Detent and shifter springs? I already have solid mounts. Nothing crazy just 70A torque mounts and 66A for the motor and trans mounts. Hondata s300 p28 ECU with a obd1 to Obd2 conversion harness? Or is there a better ecu option? Whats a good option for power steering if i have to delete the power steering pulley? Ac is already coming out of the car as its been blown since i bought it the condensor is shredded. Crank pulley and cam gear option thatd be best? Any other information i need and or forgot is more than welcome.
