I had code p1259 which was camshaft timing solenoid so I replaced with new one then wiped the ECU. After that I cranked the car no check engine light so proceeded to do idol relearn procedure but that's not important here. Before whenever I reset the ECU when I would crank the car check engine light would immediately come on. But this time after the new vct it went out and stayed out all last night while I drove for 2 hours. Fast forward to today I cranked the car boom there it was CHeck Eng light. Side note when plugging connector into oil pressure switch the wires broke off flush with the connector due to damage from oil leak from original VCT solenoid so I spliced in a new connector. It was hard to tell exactly but the original connector had what looked to be a black and red striped wire and an obvious blue wire. The new connector has one red and one black. I spliced the black to the blue and the red to the other wire. I hope that was correct I was told it didn't matter but I don't trust the source. Oh yeah by the way I put diagnostics on it today just to make sure and yes it's the P1259 again. But anyway I'm very new here and would appreciate any info someone could give me as to why after I put new vct solenoid on and check engine light went out it came right back on the next day with the same code.
