'00 Accord p0505 code even with new iacv!
Bought myself a 2000 Honda Accord with the 2.3l VTEC manual 5speed from the auction at work. I started with a tps code egr code and the p0505 code. I pulled the throttle body to get the tps off and found that it was just caked in deposits. While it was off I pulled the iacv and cleaned the throttle body and iacv and put it back together to see if it helped anything and replaced the egr valve. Cleared codes started car and let it idle for about 30 minutes (poorly) and redid my scan again got codes for the tps and p0505 so replaced the throttle body assembly from junkyard and cleaned the new tb and it got rid of the tps code and threw a map sensor code with p0505 so I swapped the old map sensor on and bought a new iacv and am still stuck with the p0505 code. I've inspected the wiring and it is all clean and no visible breakage of the wiring. I it's looming is all in tact (I put it back after checking the wires). The iacv is brand new from auto part store. The code doesn't show up after clearing it when the car is cold but once it warms up it shows the code and starts idle surging. When cold I can rev the motor but when warm it won't even rev to 3k. I've sprayed every vacuum line with carb cleaner as well as all around throttle body and intake and the iacv. All their gaskets are new as well. Where should I be looking next?
forgive me if i lead you in the wrong direction as i don't remember exact how the wiring harness is in the early accord. But a common issue with the civic was that the ICAV and the IAT sensor has the same connector and would be plugged to the wrong sensor.
