suggestions after timing belt replacemnt
Hey gang, need some suggestions. Im an old head that had a em1 back in 2k. I recently bought a 05 d17 that had a snapped timing belt when i bought it. Got the car real cheap and planned on using it as a cheap commuter car instead of my gas guzzling truck.
Long story short is i recently finished the timing belt replacement, new plugs, water pump, tensioner etc. When i try to start the car i get what seems to be a slow crank like the battery is dying. Its a brand new battery and its charged etc so thats not the issue it just cranks slow like the battery is dying. Im going to double check the timing this weekend, but IF the timing was off a tooth or so would the car start and run like **** or would it not start at all? Im pretty mechanically inclined I just havent touched a honda in about 15 years. I will also be checking fuel and spark but what are some other things I should check? It ran before the belt snapped so nothing else "should" be wrong but I want to cover all my basis. TIA
