Del Sol compressor in a 1991 CRX
Hello all,
I'm brainstorming before fixing my AC system.
The Vehicle we're talking about is a 1991 CRX with a JDM 1998 D15B Civic Ferio swap (3 stage vtec)
The car currently has no AC lines from the firewall. (just the two ends visible that go to the coil) and no compressor.
I have a brand new compressor (purchased for a 95 Del Sol) just sitting there.
If i purchased the compressor for a 1991 CRX I'd need to do a R134 coneversion (retrofit) could find the lines relatively easily etc... I know all that.
My question is: Could i use the Del Sol compressor? Which is made for R134 refrigerant, and should "work better" over the Retrofitted compressor.
The only problem I can see would be finding the proper hoses to use (out of which car for whatever compressor etc)
A work around I was looking into would be purchasing one of those JEGS stainless steel braided hose and AC fitting kits.
Has anyone attempted this?
Would it be worth it?
Thanks for any feedback.

Yes it will work. Search around here for the TRS090 in an EF. All the same steps. Critical to get the parallel flow condenser for r134a if you want ice cold air. The r12 serpentine condenser doesn't flow enough for r134a needs.
The evaporator and TXV are the same, just need to be cleaned of the r12 oil.
The low pressure switch should probably be replaced with one for r134a. It has a lower pressure cutout. The r12 switch works but below 34-36 degrees the AC won't run for defrost.
